An all-male a cappella choir from one of the USA’s most prestigious universities recently visited ACS Cobham International School.
The Brown Derbies – from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island – performed to an audience of 40 students, parents and teachers at a college admissions workshop.
Their half-hour concert featured a range of songs from REM’s
Nightswimming to LMFAO’s
Party Rock Anthem – all with no instruments.
Members of the choir then shared their personal insights and thoughts about life at Brown University.
They also gave their individual reasons for choosing the Ivy League university over other schools in the USA.
The Brown Derbies have previously performed at the White House for former US president Bill Clinton and released 10 albums.
ACS Cobham careers advisor Joan Liu said: “Their contagious enthusiasm and passion for learning was inspiring and we would gladly welcome them back to ACS Cobham in the future.”
