Children flock to Oxshott for Play and learn session

A total of 25 youngsters and adults recently visited Oxshott Village Centre for a Play and Learn session, which included such activities as making arts and crafts and singing rhymes.
Children flocked to Oxshott Village Centre recently to enjoy such activities as making arts and crafts and singing rhymes.
A total of 25 youngsters and adults visited the Holtwood Road venue for a Play and Learn session, run by the Claygate and Oxshott Sure Start Children’s Centre.
They were joined by the Mayor and Mayoress of Elmbridge, John and Mary Sheldon.
Christine Elmer, Elmbridge Borough Council’s portfolio holder for social affairs, said: “We must not under-estimate how important these Play and Learn sessions are.
“They give children and their parents or carers, ideas of fun ways to play together, as well as giving them the opportunity to share new experiences.”
Play and Learn sessions take place at Oxshott Village Centre from 10am to 11.30am every other Tuesday.
