Experience the magic of the West End this summer
21 Jun 2011
Superformers - the brainchild of Weybridge resident and actor Neil Reynolds - has organised two six-day musical theatre workshops, which will take place at the Performing Arts Centre at Brooklands College in August.
All of the magic of the West End is on its way to Weybridge later this summer.
The town is playing host to two six-day musical theatre workshops for eight- to 18-year-olds.
These will take place from 10am to 4pm on August 1 to 6 and August 8 to 13 at the Performing Arts Centre at Brooklands College in Heath Road.
They have been organised by Superformers, which delivers courses through its professional mentoring team.
This is an ever-growing group of performers, directors and choreographers – all of whom have West end credits for performing or creative management.
Youngsters who sign up to a workshop will be mentored in dancing, singing, acting, and staging skills by a selection of professionals from the Superformers team.
The objective is to then produce and stage a West End-inspired
show for family and friends to attend on the final Saturday of the course.
Superformers is the brainchild of Weybridge resident and actor Neil Reynolds, a West End performer with more than 25 years of experience.
He has most recently completed a five-year run in Billy Elliot The Musical at the Victoria Palace.
“I have been extremely lucky in my career to have worked with dedicated, passionate and enormously talented individuals, all of whom share the same goal as myself - to
inspire and encourage the next generation of performers,” he said.
“The sense of pride when you see one of your students achieve their dream is indescribable.
“To bring this opportunity to a local level is extremely exciting.”
Each course costs £195 per student, with the price including a Superformers t-shirt.
