Life-sized camel figure stolen from back yard

Surrey Police is appealing for information after a life-sized camel figure was stolen from the back yard of a property in Bridge Road, East Molesey, sometime between 1am and 11am on Monday (January 9).
A life-sized camel figure has been stolen from the back yard of a property in East Molesey.
Surrey Police said that the theft occurred in Bridge Road sometime between 1am and 11am on Monday (January 9).
Entry was gained by forcing the lock on the back gate, police added.
The camel, which has been used on film sets, is made of resin and fibre glass and has a faded finish.
Surrey Police is now appealing for anyone with information regarding the incident to get in contact.
Neighbourhood specialist officer PC Peter Bazley said: “This is a very unusual and distinctive item which I’m sure anyone would remember if they had seen it.
“If anyone has been offered a life-sized camel for sale or has any information about its whereabouts they should call officers as a matter of urgency.
“Given the camel’s size, we believe that more than one person was involved in the theft and a van or flat bed lorry would have been required.
“It is likely that the suspects would have made considerable noise rupturing the lock on the gate and moving other items around to get to the camel.
“I would appeal to anyone who saw individuals or a vehicle in the area during this time period which might connect to this incident to get in touch.”
Anyone with information about this incident is being asked to call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference EL/12/185.
Alternatively, they can call Criestoppers free and anonymously on 0800 555 111.
