A local college has been ranked among the top 200 schools in England for GCSE attainment.
St George’s College was named on the list after every student achieved A* to C grades in at least five GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, including English and Maths, in 2011.
The news comes with the government having published the results of more than 3,300 secondary schools’ GCSE and A-Level exams from last year.
According to the results, 95.4% of pupils at Surrey schools achieved at least five passes at GCSE or equivalent level, compared to a national average of 93.5%.
The proportion of pupils achieving five or more A* to C grades, meanwhile, was 79.9% in Surrey. This was 0.4% above the national average.
In addition, 63.4% of Surrey pupils achieved at least five A* to C grades including English and Maths, compared to a national average of 58.9%.
As far as the A-level results are concerned, 81.2% of students in Surrey achieved three or more A-levels.
The average across England was 82.1%.
