Levi Bellfield has been refused permission to appeal against his conviction for the kidnap and murder of Milly Dowler.
The former bouncer and wheel clamper was sentenced to a whole life term last June after a jury at the Old Bailey found him guilty of abducting and killing the Walton teenager.
His application for leave to appeal was heard by a panel of three judges - the Lord Chief Justice, Mr Justice Wyn Williams and Mr Justice Maddison – sitting at London’s Court of Appeal today (Wednesday).
Milly (pictured), a pupil at Heathside School in Weybridge, disappeared while on her way home from Walton train station in March 2002.
The 13-year-old’s remains were discovered at Yateley Heath in Hampshire six months later.
