Residents given chance to have say on sports hub plans
22 Feb 2012
Residents will be able to have their say on plans for a new sports hub in Walton during a series of Elmbridge Borough Council consultation events taking place on March 3, 6 and 7.
People are being given the chance to have their say on plans for a new sports hub in Walton.
Elmbridge Borough Council is looking to build the facility on land adjacent to the Xcel leisure complex in Waterside Drive, Walton.
The proposals include a new football and athletic stadium for use by Walton Casuals Football club, Walton & Hersham Football Club and Walton Athletic club.
They also include new astroturf and grass pitches designed for junior football and youth development, a new eight-lane all weather track and car parking.
A planning application for the hub is currently being prepared and, as part of this process, the borough council has organised a series of consultation events.
These will see the authority explain the proposals and allow local people and other interested parties to give their views.
The first consultation event will be held at the Xcel leisure centre from 12pm to 4pm on March 3.
Two more will take place at the Civic Centre, off Esher High Street, from 3pm to 8pm on March 6 and 7.
