Canvey Island 2 – 2 Metropolitan Police FC (Ryman League Premier Division) – January 31

Metropolitan Police FC picked up a point from a topsy turvy Ryman League Premier Division clash at Canvey Island yesterday evening (Tuesday).

The home side took the lead on 13 minutes, as Jay Curran took the ball from Blues goalkeeper Jamie Butler and fired home.

Just before half time, Metropolitan Police FC skipper Steve Sutherland struck to put his side back on level terms.

And the turnaround was complete 12 minutes after half-time, when Eddie Smith scored to make it 2-1 to the away side.

Back came Canvey Island, however, and they equalised through Jason Hallet on 70 minutes.

The result leaves Metropolitan Police FC in ninth place in the Ryman League Premier Division, with 42 points from 25 matches.

Their next game is on Friday (February 3) when they take on 20th-placed Tooting & Mitcham United at Imber Court.

Kick off is at 7.45pm.
