Blues beat Thamesmead to progress in London Senior Cup

Metropolitan Police FC beat Thamesmead 4-1 at Imber Court last night (Tuesday) to progress to the sixth round of the London Senior Cup, where they will meet AFC Wimbledon.

Metropolitan Police FC are through to the sixth round of the London Senior Cup after beating Thamesmead 4-1 at Imber Court last night (Tuesday).
The Blues opened the scoring on 37 minutes, when Chris Bourne fired past Thamesmead goalkeeper Sam Mott.
And the hosts doubled their advantage just after half-time, as Staforde Palmer slid the ball into the back of the net.
Jack McLeod scored on 64 minutes to make it 3-0, before Carl Wilson-Denis bagged the Blues’ fourth from the penalty spot seven minutes later.
The visitors did grab a consolation on 86 minutes, as Joseph Afusi found the top corner.
The win means that Metropolitan Police FC will now play AFC Wimbledon away from home in the next round of the competition.
The Blues return to Ryman League Premier Division action this Saturday (January 28), when they take on Billericay Town away from home.
