Surrey Cricket Club have re-signed 35-year-old Australian fast bowler Dirk Nannes for this summer's Friends Life t20 campaign, which begins at the Kia Oval against Essex on June 13.
Surrey Cricket Club have re-signed Australian fast bowler Dirk Nannes for the 2012 Friends Life t20 competition, it has been announced.
The 35-year-old left armer played for the county in the tournament last summer, taking 19 wickets at an average of 20.05.
He joins Indian spinner Murali Kartik as Surrey’s second overseas signing for this year’s campaign, which begins at the Kia Oval against Essex on June 13.
Surrey team director Chris Adams said: “As we saw last season in the shortest form of the game, Dirk is still one of the most consistently dangerous and economical bowlers on the world scene.
“He did a fantastic job for us and I can speak for the whole club when I say we are delighted to welcome him back for another spell.”
Meanwhile, Surrey wicketkeeper batsman Gary Wilson has been named in the Ireland squad for their upcoming tour of Kenya and ICC WT20 qualifiers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, having been handed a "B" level central contract.
